My opinion of news writing and as a
citizen journalist
As citizen
journalists, we can learn to use websites such as blogs, podcasts as well as
social media, and YouTube to disseminate information. Citizen journalism can
use the platform to write news writing. Using platforms such as bloggers can
help citizen journalism in writing news writing. Blogger can be used easily
with various features in it such as there is a comment feature that makes it
easier for readers to provide feedback to the author. Make it easier for
citizen journalism to reach their news writing access to a larger readership.
Create news writing by collecting credible, accurate, and objective
information. News writing is based on facts without bias. For the information
shown to be accountable, as a citizen journalism must conduct news gathering
first before writing news writing. News gatherings can be done such as
conducting interviews and background research. Write news that becomes
informative and valuable to the readers. Make good use of existing platforms in
the stage of improving writing skills.

Reflection
This knowledge
talks about the peer feedback rubric for Blog Buddy that I studied before last
semester. These studies provide solid
evidence in support of the use of peer feedback rubrics in EFL writing
instruction. Because I do not yet know about this knowledge, I will now need to
read more about this topic because it is a useful topic for me in studying
news, feature, and editorial courses. For me, the most important aspect was
where educators can increase language learning, writing abilities, and student
engagement by employing peer feedback practices and utilizing digital
platforms. In this material, peer
feedback between friends can have an impact on language learning and the
development of writing skills. This
knowledge is important to me in the workplace because we can develop the skills
to write insightful, informative, and engaging reviews that contribute to the
discourse surrounding the film and its impact on the audience. I have developed
my knowledge of this material that feedback can engage in the context of
English as a Foreign Language (EFL) writing education.
Summary
According to the lecture’s
explanation and lecture note in their article titled “Peer Feedback Rubric for
Blog Buddy: Language Learning Log in EFL Writing Education,”
it was stated that research on peer feedback in English as a Foreign
Language (EFL) writing education has shown its significant role in enhancing
language learning and writing skills. Studies by Kamimura (2006) and Saeed
(2018) highlight the benefits of using online platforms like Facebook groups
for peer feedback, which not only enhances writing skills but also fosters a
supportive learning environment. Shofiya (2021) found that students perceive
online peer feedback positively, contributing to their reading and writing
skills and motivation. Zhang (2014) found that blog-mediated peer feedback
positively correlated with learners' motivation, collaboration, and overall
satisfaction with the course. These findings highlight the benefits of
integrating technology and peer feedback practices in EFL writing education. By
implementing these strategies and using digital platforms, educators can
improve language learning, improve writing skills, and increase student
engagement.
