My opinion of news writing and as a
citizen journalist
As citizen
journalists, we can learn to use websites such as blogs, podcasts as well as
social media, and YouTube to disseminate information. Citizen journalism can
use the platform to write news writing. Using platforms such as bloggers can
help citizen journalism in writing news writing. Blogger can be used easily
with various features in it such as there is a comment feature that makes it
easier for readers to provide feedback to the author. Make it easier for
citizen journalism to reach their news writing access to a larger readership.
Create news writing by collecting credible, accurate, and objective
information. News writing is based on facts without bias. For the information
shown to be accountable, as a citizen journalism must conduct news gathering
first before writing news writing. News gatherings can be done such as
conducting interviews and background research. Write news that becomes
informative and valuable to the readers. Make good use of existing platforms in
the stage of improving writing skills.

Reflection
This knowledge talks about selecting
engaging EFL news editorial topics and design interviews. Selecting interesting
EFL (English as a Foreign Language) news topics involves considering several
factors to ensure they are relevant and interesting to the audience. Because I
do not yet know about this knowledge, I will now need to read more about this
topic because it is a useful topic for me in studying news, features, and
editorial courses. For me, the most important aspect was where there are
several factors to ensure they are relevant and interesting to the audience
such as relevance, audience interest, uniqueness, timeliness, impact, balance,
depth and breadth, credibility, engagement potential, and ethical
considerations. By considering these factors, we can select engaging EFL news
editorial topics that will resonate with the audience and contribute an
informative publication such as a film review, the impact on social media, the
importance of cultural exchange, etc. This knowledge is important to me in the
workplace because we can develop the skills to write insightful, informative,
and engaging reviews that contribute to and impact the audience. I have
developed my knowledge of this material that review writing can give readers an
idea of information about the various topics.
Summary
According to the lecture’s
explanation and lecture note in their article titled “Selecting Engaging EFL
News Editorial Topics and Design Interview,” it was stated that selecting
engaging EFL news topics involves considering factors such as relevance,
audience interest, uniqueness, timeliness, impact, balance, depth, credibility,
engagement potential, and ethical considerations. This collection explores
various EFL news-editorial topics, focusing on societal norms, digital
influence, international cultural exchange programs, academic balance, student
leaders' roles, student entrepreneurship, and social bullying. Topics include
film reviews, social media impact on students, the importance of cultural
exchange programs, balancing academics and mental health, driving campus change
through student leadership, the rise of student entrepreneurship, and
uncovering the hidden effects of social bullying. When designing interview
questions for EFL newsroom content, consider relevance to the topic, open-ended
nature, and a focus on detailed, descriptive responses rather than simple
yes/no answers. By considering these factors, editors can select engaging EFL
news topics that resonate with their audience and contribute to an informative,
thought-provoking publication.
