About me:

                   Hello friends, My name is Mewpov. I was born in Tangerang . I am a student of Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang and I majored in English Education. I'm in semester 6 right now. I live in Moch Toha street Pasar Baru Tangerang. I come from a small family of 4 members in one family. I have a sister and I am the youngest in the family. My hobby is listening to music cause I think my voice is very sweet. I listen to a lot of songs from western and kpop. I'm not fixated on genres, I listen to all genres of music. My daily life is a student of the faculty of education. Right now I'm also helping to teach a few children in my place. My opinion of news writing and as a citizen journalist

                   As citizen journalists, we can learn to use websites such as blogs, podcasts as well as social media, and YouTube to disseminate information. Citizen journalism can use the platform to write news writing. Using platforms such as bloggers can help citizen journalism in writing news writing. Blogger can be used easily with various features in it such as there is a comment feature that makes it easier for readers to provide feedback to the author. Make it easier for citizen journalism to reach their news writing access to a larger readership. Create news writing by collecting credible, accurate, and objective information. News writing is based on facts without bias. For the information shown to be accountable, as a citizen journalism must conduct news gathering first before writing news writing. News gatherings can be done such as conducting interviews and background research. Write news that becomes informative and valuable to the readers. Make good use of existing platforms in the stage of improving writing skills.

Reflection

                   Because I do not yet know about this new news blogging or blog post format, I will now need to know about learning English writing through news writing. I now think this new news blogging or blog post format is different from other forms of writing that have been described and explained in past learning. This format has new parts in it as there is an additional grammar in the learning logs that makes us learn about grammar. Having learned about learning English writing through news writing makes me know more about what is meant by understanding news, and what is contained in news blogging and blog posts format for me, the most important learning became relevant for me to be able to have the ability to write as well as writing news. This knowledge is essential to me in the workplace because I can know the important values of news blogging and blog post format and most importantly I can know about using blogs as a medium to learn. Later, I realized that we can apply this knowledge in the learning process.

 

Summary

                   According to the lecture’s explanation and lecture’s note  in their article titled “Learning English writing through News Writing- Media Landscape [News Blogging/ Blog Posts Format],”  it was stated that the student teacher can enhance their understanding of news writing language by reflecting on the session material, analyzing the headline, lead/opening paragraph, tone, voice, language, vocabulary, sourcing and credibility, and organization of ideas. They can also focus on grammar-related observations and insights, such as the correct use of verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and conditional sentences. The vocabulary usage section allows the student teacher to record new vocabulary words or phrases encountered during the session, including their definition and example sentences. At the end of each log entry, the student teacher can provide an overall evaluation of the session, highlighting valuable aspects and areas of confusion or difficulty. They can set goals for improvement, such as practicing passive voice in their next writing assignment, incorporating new vocabulary words into their blog post, and addressing prep struggles.
