SUMMARY
According to Rudin, R., &
Ibotson, T. (2013 ), the author of “Introduction to Journalism.” states that A
survey can help advertisers understand the impact of a newspaper or yearbook on
the local economy by determining reader spending habits. It helps in
understanding distribution, number of students, approvals, advance publicity,
distribution, collection, tabulation, the information needed about the person
filling out the survey, questions to determine student spending, and products
and services to ask about. Conducting random surveys or providing surveys for
each student at school can gather data. To sell an ad for school publications,
prepare a list of potential advertisers, their addresses, and phone numbers.
Visit a merchant to gather data and present the results of the marketing
survey. Write good survey questions to obtain reliable responses and achieve
goals. Use neutral answer options, balanced responses, closed-ended questions,
and diverse questions. Customize polls with logos, colors, or themes to
maintain credibility. Separate topics into closed-ended questions and use
expert-written survey templates. Vary question types, ask them differently, and
space out similar questions to prevent respondents from leaving the survey.
Allow most questions to be optional to avoid bias. Conduct a test drive to
identify errors and share the survey with colleagues and friends to prevent
bias.
REFLECTION
This knowledge is talk about
creating Surveys and using ads used for school publications. Because I do not
yet know about this knowledge, I will now need to read more about this
knowledge because it is a useful topic for me in studying journalism course. This
knowledge is important to me in the preparation of the thesis later because it
contains knowledge about the importance of using surveys in getting information
and how to form a good survey. By implementing this survey, a researcher can
gain meaningful insights or information about how the target audience feels and
how they respond. For me the most important aspect is where we can find out how
important the survey it is, where surveys can be used to collect, know about
the effectiveness and improve performance. This survey is an excellent medium
that can be applied to various fields such as business, and health, and one of
them is the material discussed at this week's meeting on the field of
education, namely school publications. Having learned about this knowledge I
now know that using surveys is important in gathering information from sources
in making news. I have developed my knowledge of this material that surveys can
be used as a form of collecting data in making news and conducting other
research.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Learning
strategies are several series of student activities for the learning process in
achieving the goals of learning activities. Each person has a different
strategy in the learning process that is done. Every time I learn something
new, I have different ways to complete a duty done. First, I will make a list
that contains which tasks or lessons that I will do. I used to write it in a
small post it and then stick it on the study table to make it easy to see.
Second, I will do it in the most comfortable place in my opinion the
comfortable room is in my bedroom more precisely on the study table. Third, I
am very happy to do the learning process accompanied by a quiet music. I have
one playlist that I always play if I am doing the learning process where I will
feel more excited in doing it. Finally, after learning has been comfortable and
enjoyable then I will try to start understanding the task I am working on, such
as summarizing what I have to do in an easy understand language. I think it can
all help me in doing the learning process to meet the goals of the learning
activities that I do.
I got new vocabulary from here. Thank you Meymei✨👍
