Hello friends, My name is Mewpov. I was born in
Tangerang . I am a student of Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang and I
majored in English Education. I'm in semester 6 right now. I live in Moch Toha
street Pasar Baru Tangerang. I come from a small family of 4 members in one
family. I have a sister and I am the youngest in the family. My hobby is
listening to music cause I think my voice is very sweet. I listen to a lot of
songs from western and kpop. I'm not fixated on genres, I listen to all genres
of music. My daily life is a student of the faculty of education. Right now I'm
also helping to teach a few children in my place. The reason that I create this

SUMMARY
According to Smith, D.
(2010), author of “Introduction to Journalism. Student Activities Book.” News
provide facts (messages) that can help them make better life choices or
information that they find interesting and meaningful (newsworthy). A news is
made up of both facts and opinions, and that those opinions, conveyed in the
form of quotes, help to bring a story to life. News values include accuracy,
conciseness, active voice, objective, clear, relevant, opinion attributed, sources
identified, fair and balanced, third person and without editorial comment, finding
the truth among the facts, statements and denials, and seeking to tell the
latest version of the truth as more facts come to light. The most important
details in this text are the news elements that make a fact newsworthy. These
elements include proximity, prominence, timeliness, consequence, human
interest, and conflict or drama. Proximity is how close the event is to the reader,
while prominence is how well known the people involved are. Timeliness is when
the most recent development is the feature of the story, and consequence is
when the impact of the event is major. Human interest is when a situation makes
the reader angry, sad, happy, or overjoyed. Most news stories are newsworthy on
this basis alone.
REFLECTION
Because I do not yet know
about English as a Foreign Language (EFL), I will now need to know about facts, opinions, elements, and values
of news. I now think the news has
different from other forms of writing that have been described in news values such as accurate, concise,
clear, relevant, etc. News is a source of
knowledge that can help people make better decisions or find useful
insights and also contains both facts
and opinions that help to bring a story to life. Having learned about a matter of facts news values
and elements makes me know more about what is meant by understanding news, what is contained in news, news
values, and elements news for me,
the most important learning became relevant for me to be able to have the ability to write as well as
writing news. This knowledge is essential to me in the workplace because I can know the values of the news, what elements
are in the news and most importantly
I can know about the difference between facts and opinions in the news. Later, I realized that we
can apply this knowledge in the learning process by knowing knowledge about facts and opinions.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
Learning
strategies are several series of student activities for the learning process in
achieving the goals of learning activities. Each person has a different
strategy in the learning process that is done. Every time I learn something
new, I have different ways to complete a duty done. First, I will make a list
that contains which tasks or lessons that I will do. I used to write it in a
small post it and then stick it on the study table to make it easy to see.
Second, I will do it in the most comfortable place in my opinion the
comfortable room is in my bedroom more precisely on the study table. Third, I
am very happy to do the learning process accompanied by a quiet music. I have
one playlist that I always play if I am doing the learning process where I will
feel more excited in doing it. Finally, after learning has been comfortable and
enjoyable then I will try to start understanding the task I am working on, such
as summarizing what I have to do in an easy understand language. I think it can
all help me in doing the learning process to meet the goals of the learning
activities that I do.
