Learning Logs Journalism Meeting 1

Hello friends, My name is Mewpov. I was born in Tangerang . I am a student of Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang and I majored in English Education. I'm in semester 6 right now. I live in Moch Toha street Pasar Baru Tangerang. I come from a small family of 4 members in one family. I have a sister and I am the youngest in the family. My hobby is listening to music cause I think my voice is very sweet. I listen to a lot of songs from western and kpop. I'm not fixated on genres, I listen to all genres of music. My daily life is a student of the faculty of education. Right now I'm also helping to teach a few children in my place. SUMMARY

                   According to Encyclopedia Britannica, Inc (2020), author of journalism: Introduction, History, The profession, Present-day journalism state that journalism is the collection, preparation, and distribution of news and related commentary and feature materials through such print and electronic media as newspapers, magazines, books, blogs, webcasts, podcasts, social networking, and social media sites, and e-mail as well as through radio, motion pictures, and television. Journalist history, explains that the earliest known journalistic product was a news sheet circulated in ancient Rome: the Acta Diurna, said to date from before 59 BCE. Acta Diurna recorded important daily events such as public speeches. It was published daily and hung in prominent places. The first regularly published newspapers appeared in German cities and Antwerp about 1609. The first English newspaper, the Weekly News, was published in 1622. One of the first daily newspapers, The Daily Courant, appeared in 1702. And, Journalism in the 20th century was marked by a growing sense of professionalism. There were four important factors in this trend: (1) the increasing organization of working journalists, (2) specialized education for journalism, (3) a growing literature dealing with the history, problems, and techniques of mass communication, and (4) an increasing sense of social responsibility on the part of journalists.

REFLECTION

                   Having learned about journalism makes me know more about what is meant by the understanding of journalism in the introduction what is the definition and what is discussed in journalism, how the early history of journalism to the present day of journalism in an all- digital era, and various professions in the field of journalism. Journalism is the investigation and reporting of events, issues, and trends to a broad audience. The ideal purpose of journalism is to inform the intended audience. Journalism has a structure in it like a lead at the beginning of the story, headline, byline, and quote. This knowledge is useful to me in the workplace, so I can have perfect news writing skills. For me, the most important aspect was how to apply a skill in journalism to have more organized, neat, and structured writing. Because I do not yet know about journalism, I will now need to know more about this course so this skill can be useful for me in the future.

LEARNING STRATEGIES

                        Learning strategies are several series of student activities for the learning process in achieving the goals of learning activities. Each person has a different strategy in the learning process that is done. Every time I learn something new, I have different ways to complete a duty done. First, I will make a list that contains which tasks or lessons that I will do. I used to write it in a small post it and then stick it on the study table to make it easy to see. Second, I will do it in the most comfortable place in my opinion the comfortable room is in my bedroom more precisely on the study table. Third, I am very happy to do the learning process accompanied by a quiet music. I have one playlist that I always play if I am doing the learning process where I will feel more excited in doing it. Finally, after learning has been comfortable and enjoyable then I will try to start understanding the task I am working on, such as summarizing what I have to do in an easy understand language. I think it can all help me in doing the learning process to meet the goals of the learning activities that I do.
