About me:

                   Hello friends, My name is Mewpov. I was born in Tangerang . I am a student of Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang and I majored in English Education. I'm in semester 6 right now. I live in Moch Toha street Pasar Baru Tangerang. I come from a small family of 4 members in one family. I have a sister and I am the youngest in the family. My hobby is listening to music cause I think my voice is very sweet. I listen to a lot of songs from western and kpop. I'm not fixated on genres, I listen to all genres of music. My daily life is a student of the faculty of education. Right now I'm also helping to teach a few children in my place. My opinion of news writing and as a citizen journalist

                   As citizen journalists, we can learn to use websites such as blogs, podcasts as well as social media, and YouTube to disseminate information. Citizen journalism can use the platform to write news writing. Using platforms such as bloggers can help citizen journalism in writing news writing. Blogger can be used easily with various features in it such as there is a comment feature that makes it easier for readers to provide feedback to the author. Make it easier for citizen journalism to reach their news writing access to a larger readership. Create news writing by collecting credible, accurate, and objective information. News writing is based on facts without bias. For the information shown to be accountable, as a citizen journalism must conduct news gathering first before writing news writing. News gatherings can be done such as conducting interviews and background research. Write news that becomes informative and valuable to the readers. Make good use of existing platforms in the stage of improving writing skills.

Reflection

            Having learned about a news approach of e-learning education using blogging makes me know more about news values and elements. I will now need to know about the elements and values of news. I now think the news is different from other forms of writing that have been described in news values such as accurate, concise, clear, relevant, etc. News is a source of knowledge that can help people make better decisions or find useful insights and also contains both facts and opinions that help to bring a story to life. Having learned about a matter of facts news values and elements makes me know more about what is meant by understanding news, what is contained in news, news values, and elements news for me, the most important learning became relevant for me to be able to have the ability to write as well as writing news. This knowledge is essential to me in the workplace because I can know the values of the news, what elements are in the news and most importantly I can know about the difference between facts and opinions in the news. Later, I realized that we can apply this knowledge in the learning process by gaining knowledge about facts and opinions.

Summary

            According to the lecture’s explanation and lecture’s notes in their article titled “Understanding News Values and Elements,”  it was stated that This presentation explores the importance of understanding news values and elements in journalism. It defines news values, such as 'timeliness', 'proximity', 'significance', 'prominence', 'conflict', 'human interest', and 'currency', and their role in determining what is considered newsworthy. Timeliness is the importance of breaking news and current events, while proximity is the significance of geographic closeness to a news event. 'Significance' is the importance of a news story's broader implications and how significant stories shape public perception and policy. 'Prominence' is the role of individuals or entities in news stories, and 'conflict' is the driving force behind news coverage. 'Human interest' stories add depth and relatability to news, while 'currency' highlights the value of stories with a contemporary or trendy angle. Lastly, news elements are the key elements of news stories, including headlines, lead, body, quotes, images, and sources.
