 SYNOPSIS

According to the author Yakubovska, A. (2022), the author of “How to Write a news story: Definition, Structure, Types of the News Story” it was stated that a news story is a concise and informative report on a topic, covering events of immediate interest. It follows the inverted pyramid structure, which allows readers to quickly understand the most important information at the beginning of the article. The inverted pyramid structure consists of four parts: a headline, a lead, the body of the text, and an ending. The headline is a headline, which outlines the subject of the story and provides a summary. The body of the text includes supporting data, historical context, and examples, while the subsequent paragraphs are brief and contain supporting details. The ending is optional and serves as an optional summary. To write a news story, choose a recent, impactful topic that interests readers. Gather accurate information from reliable sources, such as interviews, witnesses, and online sources. Structure the information by putting key points and quotes at the top or following the news inverted pyramid structure. Create a written outline or plan of the story, establishing the "who," "what," "when," and "where" of the piece. Use active voice, and third person, and avoid rewriting the story. Insert quotations throughout the story, attribute to the source, and verify the sources. Read and edit the draft before publication.

REFLECTION

Through discussion about analyzing and writing a news story, I now realize that a news story contains a detailed report of an event. As explained in the material, these reveal that news story depends on the type of news and place of publication, news stories usually contain only 100 to 400 words. The most helpful aspect for me has been that the structure used in news story writing is to follow the structure usually used in news writing with an inverted pyramid writing style for news reporting. Having read the material about a news story, I now realize that important information is at the top of the news and unimportant at the bottom of the story. This lesson means that a news story requires the ability to sort information ranging from important to unimportant without affecting the overall coherence of the news and also making it easier for editors to condense the news. These skills will be essential to me as a learner of journalism course because I can know and learn more about this knowledge and also this knowledge is essential to me in the workplace later in the future because I can know and improve the ability to create a good and true news story using the inverted pyramid technique which is divided into 4 parts, namely headlines, lead, the body of the text, and the ending.

LEARNING STRATEGIES

Learning strategies are several series of student activities for the learning process in achieving the goals of learning activities. Each person has a different strategy in the learning process that is done. Every time I learn something new, I have different ways to complete a duty done. First, I will make a list that contains which tasks or lessons that I will do. I used to write it in a small post it and then stick it on the study table to make it easy to see. Second, I will do it in the most comfortable place in my opinion the comfortable room is in my bedroom more precisely on the study table. Third, I am very happy to do the learning process accompanied by a quiet music. I have one playlist that I always play if I am doing the learning process where I will feel more excited in doing it. Finally, after learning has been comfortable and enjoyable then I will try to start understanding the task I am working on, such as summarizing what I have to do in an easy understand language. I think it can all help me in doing the learning process to meet the goals of the learning activities that I do.
